Longer excerpt from Rafa’s 3rd round presser. I am much more with colm after seeing this than I was after reading quotes in articles.

Sorry this is kind of short – I had a quick errand to run today that turned into a 4 hour odyssey. It sucked all the life out of my day.

Why Rafael Nadal is the man to beat — and not just at the French Open – by Douglas Perry (oregonlive.com) As someone who just watched the last set of the 2008 Wimbledon final, I can attest to the fact Rafa’s game is ever evolving. Rafa started his Rome campaign by playing #25 Fabio Fognini in today’s night session. Though they seemed very willing, Fabio gave the local crowd little to cheer about. Rafa broke again and continued to dominate. Rafa’s through 6-1, 6-3.

Q. Congratulations for your victory, first of all. How did you feel? How are the feelings here? How are you recovering yourself?
RAFAEL NADAL: Well, I’m recovering. These days we do whatever we can, you know. That’s an important victory today. Each match in this kind of tournament is very demanding from the first round.
Today I played only — with the best players in
