Rafa’s post semifinal presser via Tennis Connected.

Q. Tied at 3 in the first set you had a couple of chances to break his serve, and he kind of took over from there. Why was he so hard to put away at some points today?

RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, well, playing against Andy always is a challenge. Is very difficult player in every surface, I told you yesterday. Here a little bit more than the rest, in my

RC: So long, Toronto

RC: So long, Toronto

It’s semi-final day in Toronto and the top four players are left. The day started with Rafa vs. Murray. These two have played some crackers in the past and the match-up was highly anticipated. The level of tennis lived up to expectations – the players were smacking the ball right from the start. Aggressive Andy came to play today and he was pushing Rafa around. Andy broke 8th game of the first set and then served it out. They traded tight breaks in the 2nd, but Andy broke again in the 9th game. He served it out in style and

Wimbly: Semifinal press round-up

Lots of articles out there. As usual, most just have quotes from the presser and routine write ups. A few had things to say I really liked or that amused me.

I Remember You

I remember this Rafael Nadal. The one whose forehand curves and bends and drops from the sky. The one who knuckles down on break points. The one who won Wimbledon in 2008 while playing some of the best tennis ever played.

Wimbly: Post match presser

Wimbly: Post match presser

Before I dig back into my last minute Friday afternoon project (people who give you something to do by end of the day on the Friday before a 3 day weekend aren’t my bestest friends), thought I’d post the presser.

And here’s the English transcript:

Q. Looked a little like 2008 again.

RAFAEL NADAL: I never like the comparations. No, every year is completely different. For

Wimbly: In ur tourny; crushin’ ur hopes

Rafa took on the hope of Great Britain, Andy Murray, in the semifinals of Wimbledon today. From what I could hear on radio Wimbledon, it was a tight match that could have easily gone either way. There was only one break of serve in the first set and one in the second. During the 2nd set tie break, Rafa double faulted to give Murray a set point, but Murray just couldn’t take advantage of it thanks to aggressive play from Rafa. Rafa

Our VPN is down at work, so I can’t work from home today. I’ll be stuck in the office trying to see if I can sneak in a stream and not get fired. Hope you guys get to watch!
