USO: Rafa on Nightline

USO: Rafa on Nightline

Rafa will be on the US TV show Nightline tonight. (ABC at 11:35pm ET) There’s a preview of the interview up here.

When Nadal steps onto the court his is relentlessly focused. He already holds eight Grand Slam titles although never one for the U.S. Open. What is he thinking about?

“Nothing! Try to put the ball inside,” Nadal, whose first language is Spanish, told Nightline at a U.S. Open Series event just outside Cincinnati. “The important thing is the shots. It’s easier to

RC: Pre-tournament interview

RC: Pre-tournament interview

For all my fellow non-Canadians, here’s something to distract you from the fact you are missing Rafole….

Rafa’s pre-tournament interview on tennistv.com – you know, the same place that shows singles matches. And no, I have no idea why it’s so dark. Looking at the interviews that are available, seems like they only turned on the lights for Fed. Enjoying some golf [Updated]

Enjoying some golf [Updated]

Looks like Rafa’s been enjoying some golf.

Bee sends in the following sum-up of the vid:

I can’t give a full translation of the video but can give a brief synopsis…

From next week Rafa Nadal will start training having taken advantage of time to receive treatment on his knees. Now he has his sights on the US tour and the only Grand Slam that he doesn’t have, the US Open.

Rafa: I haven’t got a thorn in my side about the US Open, no, I am not obliged to win the 4. I have

Q&A with the glorious Rafa

Q&A with the glorious Rafa

Jon Wertheim just posted this post-Wimbly Q&A with Rafa on the SI site – good stuff there-in.

SI.com: How much does history motivate you? Do you know, for instance, whose record you tied today?

Rafael Nadal: The history is there for sure, being part of these players — Connors, Agassi, Lendl — it’s amazing. Just an honor to be close to these players. But I am 24 years old and it’s very difficult to talk about the history now, where I am. In
