The the surprise of everyone, the Madrid tournament performed the men’s singles draw…even though it had been scheduled for tomorrow. Oh, you rebel tournament, you. Anyway, Nole and Fed are on the top half. Rafa and Tsonga in the bottom (Murray pulled out today due to a back injury.) Here’s the draw.

Sorry for the lack of posting. I have the flu and feel horrid. Thanks to a suggestion from @rafannie, I went to a walk-in clinic and got some tamiflu today – hope that will help. At least the tummy part has calmed down.
Can you believe it? It’s almost time to start the first major of the year. The draw for the Australian Open was performed today in Melbourne. For the first time in what seems like forever, Murray is in Djokovic’s half of the draw and Federer is in Rafa’s.
It’s almost time for some real 2012 tennis to start for Rafa. Case in point, the Doha draw is out. First up for Rafa will be Philipp Kohlschreiber. They’ve had some tricky matches in the past, but Rafa leads the head-to-head 7-0. Other seeds in Rafa’s half: Youzhny, Monfils, Troicki. Also in Rafa’s half is the sometimes dangerous, sometimes silly, Gulbis. Seeds in the bottom half are Bogomolov Jr, Tsonga, Seppi and Federer.
