#3 seeds? Team Cuteness says “HA!”

Like most of you, I missed out on seeing team cuteness take on the #3 seeds on doubles, Dlouhy and Paes*. But take them on they did. Rafa and Marc! made it through in 3 sets (well, 2 sets and a super tie break – it always feels like cheating calling that 3 sets): 6-4, 3-6, 10-6. Right now, Verdasco/F. Lopez are leading their match, so perhaps we will be blessed with the doubles match of super Spanish hotness…although most of us will not get to see it. *sigh*

IW doubles draw

The doubles draw is out and guess who’s on it? Yes! The cutest doubles team evah! Rafa and Marc! will team up to play the #3 seeds in the first round. It’ll be tough…can they do it? If they do and if Feli and Nando win their first round, they would play each other. The court might explode from the hotness.

Cuteness denied

For his second match today, Rafa teamed up with Marc! to take in the 3rd seeded doubles team of Fyrstenberg/Matkowski. Since the broadcast world hates doubles, no one but the audience in Doha could actually watch the match. No one should ever be denied such epic cuteness.

Rafa and Marc! started of by breaking in the first game. They were broken in the 4th game to put things back on serve. Team Cute broke again in the 7th game to go up 4-3

Doha draw

The singles and doubles draws are posted…and Rafa’s on both of them!

On the singles side, Rafa will face Bolelli in the first round. Seeded players in his half are Troicki, Youzhny, and Garcia-Lopez. Seeded players in the other half are Karlovic, Davydenko, Montanes and Federer. It’s actually a pretty nice draw for Rafa.

I love how Rafa’s all, “I want to hit! I want to hit!” when they are picking on Pico. And the slow measured retreat back from the net followed by the “oh shit!” run back to it cracks me up.

Dashing duo dashed

Rafa started off his Paris tournament today by teaming up with Argentina’s Juan Monaco to take on the German team of Kas and Kohlschreiber in a R32 doubles match. It looked like it was a tight and exciting match – not that anyone not in the stands could see it. Kas/Kohlschreiber win: 4-6, 7-5, 15-13.
