Spain 0; France 5
Not a good day for the Spanish Davis Cup team – both Ferrer and Verdasco lost their singles matches. The team will have to win all of the remaining matches if they are to progress to the next round.
Earlier in the day, Rafa talking up Spain’s chances (Google mangling). Let’s hope he doesn’t bring the same luck to the footie team…
Update:
Well, day two is complete and so is Spain’s 2010 Davis Cup. They lost the doubles
Spain through to the DC quarters
Despite missing both Rafa and Verdasco, Spain beat Switzerland 4-1 to make it through to the Davis Cup semi-finals. They will take on the French team the weekend after Wimbledon in France.
Well, d’uh!
In the “blatantly obvious” category today, we have a report titled “Nadal concerned about injuries” – I mean, he’d be neck deep in denial if he wasn’t, right?
Rafael Nadal “is worried” about his constant injuries although the former top-ranked player is confident of getting back to his best form, according to Spain’s Davis Cup captain Albert Costa.
“He is worried about his physical state but he’s working every day to get better,” Costa said on Wednesday.

Many of the items in this post were culled from your comments and for some, I chose slightly different versions since I figured you’d already seen the others. Be sure to read through all the DC comment threads to make sure you don’t miss anything – this is just a
DC final day: report & photos
Had to get up early since I wasn’t sure what time the bus was today. I think the Czech lady said 10:15 (yes, I understand times better in Czech than Catalan – sad, no?), but I wasn’t 100% sure. I wasn’t in the mood to go downstairs for breakfast (I hate eating alone in public), so I called room service. I asked if the lady who picked up spoke English. She said “Moment” and then put the phone down, called someone’s name out and then said something that sounded like “puta needs someone who speaks English.” Woohoo! Just woke up
