Florian Mayer upsets Rafael Nadal via espn.com
Raquet Reaction: Nadal vs. Mayer by Ed McGrogan. WARNING: Annoying auto-load of video.
Oh, google mangle, sometimes you speak the truth: “Nadal upset was baked out“.
Toni says a lot of the same things Rafa fans have been saying, but I bet some will be pissed off by his comments. ;) (Mangle)

Q. Florian is a very unorthodox player. Did you find that part of his game tough tonight? He’s not like most players.
RAFAEL NADAL: He play very well. That’s true. He play really well. I didn’t. I felt that I was not playing bad from the baseline. But my return, when he was serving the first serve, was terrible tonight. I only won four points
Shanghai surprise
In this third round match, Rafa took on Florian Mayer (#23) of Germany. Mayer plays an all court game – mixing up pace and rushing the net. Rafa appeared to be having trouble reading Mayer’s serve and that let him get into the net often and effectively. Mayer was on today – totally on – and Rafa was having problems finding a rhythm on his own game because of that. Full kudos to Mayer as he wins: 7-6(5), 6-3.

Q. It was a good revenge from last year in Bangkok, I suppose?
RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah, was tough lose last year in Bangkok. Less painful because I came after winning the US Open, but probably was the more unbelievable lose in my career against him last year because I never had as many chances as I had in that match, and I lost.
Was a little bit in my mind today in the breakpoints, that’s the true. And for the rest,
