Rafa fall down go boom:

The knee wobble/jam worried me, but he appeared to be fine. My favorite moment is when he just seems to give up and fall back onto the grass like, “Oh yeah, this isn’t embarrassing at all.” Nice of Stepanek to help him up.

Queens: 2nd round presser

(Running late and am trying to catch up! Trying to buy a car takes a lot of time.)

Rafa’s 2nd round presser is up on the ASAP Sports site:

Queens: Stepping into the quarters

For his 3rd round match at Queen’s Club, Rafa played #57 Radek Stepanek. There were errors, there were some Rafa serve meltdowns, but there were also some lovely shots from Rafa. A very see-saw match from him. As he always says, he’ll have to play better in the next round. He’s through: 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.

Queens: Not a flashy start, but a win

In his first singles match at Queens, Rafa play #168 Matthew Ebden from Australia. This was their first match meeting, but Rafa did hit with Ebden during this year’s Australian Open, so he had to be a bit familiar with the guy’s big serving and hard-hitting game. From the little I saw, Rafa appeared to be in “early rounds” mode – a more errors than usual and not as focused as he can be, but it was enough. He broke in
