More Montreal photos
I took some photos for the kind people at Tennis Connected when I was in Montreal. They are the folks who helped me get access to the on court photo bench. I had set them aside and not posted them, but I was recently pushy enough to ask if I could go ahead and post them and they said yes. Here they are.

Ooo-la-la! It’s Lil in Montreal
I was very excited to go to the Rogers Cup in Montreal! First it was my first professional tennis tournament, second it was going to be Rafa’s big come back and he was the reason I broke my piggybank, and I knew that eventually miri was going to be there, and I thought it would be fun to meet her.
I am a very big fan of Rafael Nadal, but I also love the rest of the Armada, so I did not only concentrate on Rafa; which made it a very
Taking the Plunge: Three steps to a great tournament
So there I was sitting at my desk some time in mid-April, thinking about how I wanted to plan a getaway. But I didn’t want o take too much time away and I didn’t want to spend too much money and I didn’t want to have too many challenges (distance, language, transportation, etc). I’m not sure why Montreal popped into my head, but it did. I guess it had to do with the French class I was taking at the time.
Post quarter-final presser
Q. You had a good first set. After that you went a little bit down.
RAFAEL NADAL: Yeah. Normal, no? I very happy with my first set, no? My best level after the injury, and I was playing very good, I think. So very happy about the matchup today, no?
It was a little bit normal after almost two months outside of competition. Was tough for me play at this
A slight bump on the comeback trail
Rafa lost in the quarter finals of the Rogers Cup to Juan Martin Del Potro 6-7(5-7) 1-6. There were times in the match when he looked like the Rafa we’ve come to know and love. Then he blew a lead in a tie-break and it was all down hill from there. I think he was having a bit of a problem with his back as I kept seeing him try to stretch it. A few stiff muscles wouldn’t be unusual in his first tightly fought match in quite a while. Oh well, it’s on to Cinci for team Nadal.
miri at the Rogers Cup – day three
Slightly shorter report today because I’m tired but want to catch up. I started the day with breakfast with my friend and when we went to the very lovely church across the street from our hotel to take some pictures. We then hung out a bit as it was her last day here. After saying our good-byes, I headed over to the tournament. On the way there, I finally met Nima from Tennis Connected. We walked into the site and then I went into the media room to pick up the practice schedule (I figured I’d missed Rafa’s practice,
