Rafa defeated Marin Cilic (#13) 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the Basel quarterfinals today. That means he’s into another hard court semifinal. (Indoors, even!) I do love watching Rafa play tennis on the weekend.

When Rafa lost the first set, and he got furious about the hawkeye incident, I thought he played the best first set of the tournament. So how could he possible turn things around yet again.?
He did, and on an indoor tournament: -)
Well done, and every victory is important, as Rafa says, and we get to watch him some more. VAMOS.

I’m amazed. Yes, some of Rafa’s tennis was good in first set, especially improved serve, but unforced error count way to high . Winner count for Cilic in that first set was high – but only because rafa set him up – down the middle returns, soft returns. After the first couple of games of the second set, I was ready to turn the feed off. But…somehow rafa fought back. Intelligently, aggressively, persistently, her really turned the screws. Yes it was hard work, yes there are som ny things yet to improve on ….but HE won that match today, he turned the momentum around, he created opportunities, lots of them ,and capitalized on many too. This was very different then the first two matches, where one wondered who would lose, not who would win
    Great stuff
    Best of the year

Have been watching closely, just not posting—so happy for this turn-around! That this is all happening INDOORS is astonishing to me, but plans/changes/improvements come to fruition on their own time. !Vamos!
