The Boodles: Rafa defeats Haase

Rafa defeated Robin Haase (6-4, 6-2) today in an exhibition match at The Boodles. Why is it called The Boodles? I have no idea. But the name will always amuse me. It’s just fun to say. Boooooodles. For some reason, I enjoy it more because it’s “The” Boodles. (It’s Friday, I’ve had 4 hours of sleep, I’m so happy my friends can get married now, and I’m a bit punch drunk. Forgive me.)

Anyway, the tournament has been kind enough to upload the whole match in HD – enjoy!

Not enough for you? How about some photos?

I agree — The Boodles seems such a goofy name for what looks to be a hoity-toity event. :) I was able to see a bit of the match — Rafa looked good. I did feel a bit sorry for Haase as his post-match interview was ignored by the crowd due to Rafa’s shirt change. Miri, best wishes to your friends — how thrilled they must be! It is an unbelievably good day for love today!!

Boodles is quite a high end British jewellery company. They sponsor the tennis, hence The Boodles. I’m just disappointed I didn’t hear Rafa say Boodles :-)

Oh, yeah. That would have been perfect. Especially if he relaxed in jacuzzi at the Boodles. That would have been a very good new.

      Thanks for the info!

It was great to watch Rafa in this match without having to bite my nails! He looked relaxed, chatting to spectators and not all the usual performance before each serve. Will that continue at Wimbledon? Could avoid the time violations. He looked to be in good form.
