Love the expression on his face when he says “one of the best of my career”.

Great interview. I so enjoy that at this stage of his career, with all that he has accomplished, he still is so humble. He takes nothing for granted. There is no ego. It’s unusual to be sure and refreshing.
What comes out in every presser and especially with this one, is how grounded Rafa is. He knows who he is win or lose. His ego is in control and doesn’t get out of control, because he is not insecure. Large egos take over to cover up the underlying shortfall. Rafa does not have that in his life; he is calm; stays grounded in present moments. He is real.
Very mature – zen like in some ways. I admire him.
I think Rafa has made it clear million times that winning a tournament gives him more happiness than just the #1 ranking. If one wins many tournaments, the #1 ranking will follow. May be that’s why I was not so concerned about Rafa being #1 at Beijing or later. Of course, I am very happy that he is, since he earned it but to compare that with winning a major or any other tournament doesn’t sound right.
I am also impressed by Rafa’s English, I believe he was trying to convey ‘grounded’ when he used the term ‘feet firm on the floor’. He never ceases to amaze me!
Follow your passion Rafa and we will follow you for it.
