Brasil Open: Slipping through
Rafa and David Nalbandian played their first round match tonight against Andujar/Garcia-Lopez. They split the first two sets by the same score (6-3) and went to a super tiebreak. Andujar/GGL went up an early mini-break, leaving Rafandian battling uphill the rest of the way. In the middle of that, it sounds like Rafa was having a tough day:
Because missing everything is not enough, Nadal slipped on clay and fell on his back. Not his best day. He’s up though. #SP #fierce

It also sounds like he took the battle part seriously:
AMAZING TENNIS FROM NADAL AS HE SAVES 2 MATCH-POINTS AND WINS DOUBLES MATCH AT BRASIL OPEN, 6/3 3/6 11/9!

And ended up with a clay heart on his back:

That’s really fast, Miri…Thanks for the info!
Whew!
Congrats to Rafa and Nab! Keep Winning! Good Luck to the next Game!
I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know the doubles match was yesterday! :P But super happy Rafandian won!! :D
But Rafa slippped on clayy??and fell??Hope he is OK!
VAMOS RAFA!Onto the singles match!
The fact that Rafalby won lesser points in total shows how close the match was
Good news! He slipped? Hope he’s ok…
Another win! Well done Rafa! (and of course David). Hope doubles matches are helping!
I so wish this match had been televised, sounds like it was an exciting one. Happy that Rafa and David got the win, cos Rafa gets to spend more time on court in match play. How weird that Rafa and David won the match despite winning fewer points. Their serving statistics need to improve, especially against their opponents tonight: wonder how Rafa feels about facing Zeballos again so soon, albeit in doubles this time? Good luck Rafa and David!
Here’s a media clip of Rafa and Nalbandian.
Love the woman at 1:35 on video. That picture she’s holding is Hot.

Can anyone translate please?
I, personally, would have prefered never to have to see David Nalbandian on a tennis court again after last year’s debacle at Queens. I especially would have prefered Rafa not to play with him. But I guess that’s just me… Anyway, I’m happy that Rafa plays some doubles as it’s great to see him have some fun! Miss Marc! as his partner.
Yes Rafa/ Marc Indian Wells final 2012 was such a great match. one of my favourites. They play well together.
Hi all, and CC – haven’t heard from you for a while. I know that Rafa has always been friends with Nalby, Lopez and Pico. Nothing will change that whatever happens in a tennis match. But I do agree with you don’t really want anything to do with Nalby plus Rafa always has trouble with him in singles!
I expect they are all watching together their beloved football at the moment Real Madrid v Manu U and thank god its 1 1 . Rafa would have been totally upset and might affect his play if RM lost the match.
