Oh, hey! The doubles draw was today too. Who knew? They usually come later in the tournament. Anyway, the draw gods weren’t too kind to Rafa and Pico, they will play the 2nd seeds (Cermak/Dlouhy) in their first match. Here’s the draw.
Today’s cooperativa.cl tournament live-blog has lots of Rafa goodies in it – including practice and presser videos. Check it out. (mangle) The videos keep buffering for me on that site – they simply won’t play. So here’s a “borrowed” version of the presser on YouTube.

Davis Cup:
The Spanish DC team are having a heck of a time in Canada. They lost both singles matches the first day (what was up with Granollers?), but have managed to pull out a 5 set win in doubles today. It looks pretty grim, though, as they need to take both reverse doubles matches tomorrow to make it through to the 2nd round.

Miri thank you for keeping us up to date through the months Rafa has been absent from Tennis.
I hope Rafa has a strong, healthy, successful season. I’ve watched very little tennis in the last 7 months.
Thank you Miri, for keeping us updated with Rafa news, I think we all keep coming back here to know how he’s doing. I haven’t watched a lot of tennis either, and am wishing Rafa a healthy season; I think he will deal with his return the way he deals with his life, very serene, humble and mature. Here’s for me being serene when I watch his matches! Ha ha.

Miri, Re: what amuses Rafa around minute 5 in that video, he’s asked if being #1 is appealing. I think Rafa finds the answer too obvious and hence his amusement. In fact, he asks the journo: “what do you think?” and the full press room explodes in laughs :-)
