Happy New Year, everybodyguys! Will (or did) you have your 12 grapes to get the new year started? I’m going to give this a try tonight…but with red grapes instead of green. After all, I don’t have any gifted red undies. :D

Since this site debuted on January 1, 2009, we are leaving our toddler years behind and celebrating our 4th birthday.

A new year and a birthday? This calls for a contest. Albeit a very small contest.

Comment on this post for a chance to win:
1 Babolat Tote bag
1 package of Babolat RPM blast string
1 Rafa trading card from the Cincinnati Masters tournament

(Tote and strings are courtesy of Babolat. Trading cards are thanks to Jeanna and I making frequent visits to the info center at the Cinci tournament.)

I have 4 sets to give away, so I’ll pick 4 random winners from the comments. You must use a valid email address when you comment. I mean, if you don’t, how can I get in contact with you once you win? Comments will close January 12th at 9pm US Central time.

Lastly, I suck at getting things into the mail. So, if you do win, please be patient with me getting your packet set out.

Happy New Year to all and congratulations on Nadal News FOURTH birthday! Hard to believe it has been that long. Someone mentioned how there is no bickering or nastiness towards others who comment or against other players. That is because Miri has stated the rules and enforced them from the start. No tolerance for that here. That is why it is such a comfortable place to retreat to for all our Rafa news and a place where we can all discuss how we feel about Rafa. Miss him so much on the court, but want him to be happy and healthy and play when he is ready. Vamos Rafa and Vamos Nadal News!

I’m a little late, but Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to NadalNews! Its just that with Rafa out of the tour now, I’ve not been keeping up with tennis news as much as I normally do, so I’m behind in a lot of the posts here.

Just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU to Miri, Iñes and Genny and whoever has been helping to translate articles and generating posts to give us the most accurate information as possible.

This is really a great site where I can meet other Rafa fans who can share their love/obsession about Rafa, usually done so in the most objective way. I can say I’ve learnt to be a better fan through this site and the people hanging around here.

Here’s to a great 2013 for Rafa and Rafa fans! Vamos everybody guys!!!

Happy New Year everyone who inputs, blogs, translates etc., for this brilliant site which I wholeheartedly have to thank my daughter for finding for me. 4 years old (Good Lord I feel 4 years older in one half year waiting for “will he/wont he play Rafa”. I’ve got so many calendars in so many rooms with tennis tournies on I was getting dizzy. I don’t care what the time difference is in Acapulco …. I’ll be ready to watch providing he’s fit and healthy.

    Let’s hope Pretty Please
that the virus has gone a.way.o
and there’s no more trouble with the knees
‘cos we’re all waiting for Acapulco

Happy new year, everyone! I miss Rafa but thanks to Miri (this blog and her tweets), the waiting is bearable as we continue to be updated of Rafa’s progress, junkets, etc. :) Thanks much, Miri! :)

in the long history of tennis sports, which i ve been watching for the past 40 years or so, the play of rafel nadal is unique, an acrobatic unconventional style. thus, every opponent including roger found him rafa a big obstacle in their paths.such contests with unique style of rafa made tennis interesting.since the later part of 2012, tennis became a boring affair not only to the watchers but also to the tennis players themselves.rafa must with his will power, smash his own opponents within his body that forces him to keep him off from tennis courts of late.will he do it as he has done in conquering 11 grand slam?

hope & pray the almighty nature to give him the much required will power to do so.

    loving fan,

Happy 2013 to everyone and happy 4th birthday to this site!

Thank you very much for all the Rafa related news, links, articles, interviews, photos and videos that Nadal News has provided us all these years. It’s nice to know there are fellow fans out here who continue to love and support Rafa even when he stopped playing for months and months. It feels good to know there are fellow fans out here who continue to love and support Rafa even at the lowest period of his career.

Since Rafa’s injury lay off last year, I’ve stopped following tennis and visiting tennis websites altogether, except for site. I have gotten tired of the negativity of some articles written about him and the nastiness and cruelty of the haters in comment land. This site, together with Rafa’s tweets have been my only links to him and tennis.

I miss watching him play his brand of tennis so badly and I pray that he’ll be 100% healthy again very soon. I’m not expecting him to win everything in sight again once he finally comes back. I just want to watch him play again and see him enjoy the game and the competition.

May Nadal News enjoy many more years of covering Rafa in and out of the tennis court and continue to provide a community for Rafa fans all over the world.

And may Rafa have a healthy and happy 2013 and for many years to come!

    VAMOS!

I contacted the winners, but so far, only one person has replied to me. For the remaining 3 people, please reply by Friday or I’ll pick new winners! (I’ll email again today from a different email address in case my domain is black-listed by anyone’s provider.)

Only 2 of the 4 contest winners replied to my email. So, I’ll pick two more people tonight.
