Rafa on the radio

Inés let me know that Rafa was part of a radio station call to a Spanish swimmer who won a silver medal. She translated the following exchange:

“How are you Rafa, are you ok?”

Rafa: “Well more or less, recovering bit a bit,… but we are going on…”

I have no idea what the heck that means. Just passing it along.

Here’s audio from the radio show and a short article about it (mangle).

Thanks for the info, Inés.

Great to hear his voice! But there were a few people talking at the same time while Rafa was speaking. Same for everyone?

  2. JayDee50 says:

Awwww, Rafa’s so sweet. He couldn’t be there to lead his country in with the flag but he’s doing a great job sending his support to all and congratulating those that win. He’s taking part in his own way as best he can. What a wonderful person he is.

  3. Pavle says:

That means Rafa play In Cincinnati?

  4. Rafafan says:

mmmmmm doesn’t sound good or a very slow process “recovering bit by bit but we are going on? As much as I would like I hope he doesn’t come back too soon to the Cincinnati.

I see the audio is over 32 mins long. Where in the 32 mins did Rafa speak?

  5. Melissa says:

I don’t know how anyone can get “I’m going to Cincy” out of that. I just take this as him saying, I’m getting better slowly, I’m going forward with my rehab and recovery.

  6. Pavle says:

Will be disastrous if you do not play cincinnati
if it comes without a single tournament open to us
very soon they will turn out
    must play at least one

By the way Miri, I love that photo of Rafa. Good one!

I wanna know which is the last time that Rafa has to withdraw from Rogers Cup next week in Toronto Canada, since I think it will be happen.

  9. Eva says:

Great pic Miri! Was he smiling at you personally?

Ha! No. In fact, I fear I ticked him off taking these. I was standing behind a woman he was talking to and zooming in. While staring through the camera, I must have moved forward and, I think, got too close to the woman. At one point, he kind of gave a look my way, I took the camera down, saw that I was a bit close, felt horrid and backed away quickly.

I agree nice pic of Rafa, until you see his face closeup (poor dear). My, that sun sure has done damage to his skin. He’s got more wrinkles than me & I’m almost twice his age (lol). My son is 1 year younger than him, but doesn’t have near the wrinkles like Rafa and he’s been playing on an outdoor soccer league since he was about 7! You should have taken better care of your skin Rafa, but there’s still time to reverse sun damage just like w/your knees being rejuvenated :)
