Olympics: Rafa confirmed as the flag bearer for Spain

It’s been rumored for quite awhile, but it is now official: Rafa Nadal will be the flag bearer for Spain in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Here is the announcement on their website. (mangle)

My Mum is part of the voluntary team that is preparing props/organising the rehearsals for the Olympic & Paralympic opening & closing ceremonies. She is not only performing in all 4 ceremonies but can you guess what one of her jobs for the opening ceremony is??? HANDING OUT THE FLAGS!!!!!
Arrrghhhh I’m jealous of my own mother. I can hardly imagine how excited he is going to be at the moment he gets that flag in his hands & she is going to be the one handing it to him. I will instruct her to use this moment to introduce herself as his new mother-in-law while he is easily confused through euphoria ;)
I’ve got a ticket (as a family member of a volunteer) for the dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony on 25th July. I wonder if all the athletes have to participate in that. I would love to see Rafa “practice” carrying the flag. Heeee!!!!!
Is Federer carrying the Swiss flag? She is a huge fan of his. If you see a random woman hanging on his leg being dragged along behind then it will no doubt be her ;)
