Rafa and Marcel Granollers defeated Mertinak and Troicki in their first match in Halle: 5-7, 6-2, 10-8. Apparently, it was even shown on TV – doubles! On TV! Shocking!

Rafa seems to have moved to grass with ease. Could we expect anything else from him? Hope his singles match goes smoothly tomorrow.
he’s using the same shoes no?
Actually there are different shoes for each surface. On grass the shoes have “nubs” that are like little rubber kleats for better traction. When Rafa and Roger played the “battle of the surfaces” all those years ago they each had to switch shoes every time they went to the other side as one side was grass and one was clay. Maybe that’s why it didn’t catch on and happen another time…You can see it one Youtube.
