Thanks Miri. But what is this race to London rankings? Will Rafa have to play Federer in the Wimbledon semis now?

    • jeffry says:

Race point count from Jan 1 up to date, so the real number 1 is the leader of the race point but it will effect to the rank point usually after wimbledon
Fara now is No. 1 actually

  2. Aini says:

Yeah..what is this Race to London? i thot there’s only one ranking system..and Top 8(inc Slam winner) would goto to ATP finals in London?

  3. Lorna says:

As far as I am aware the ‘race’ just gives a better idea of who has been the best player in the world this year sí far from the start of the season. Rafa is notnumber one in the official rankings as Novak has more points but these points are from Wimbledon/US etc wins etc and need defending. Rafa is number one in the race as has the most points from his achievements thus far in the season. The top 8 ranked players still go to London as the race/rankings generally mirror each other by year end.

  4. Nikos says:

The Race to London shows the points gathered by the players to date since start of the year ONLY. However, the official rankings are determined by the points won by the players the last 52 weeks using a complex system which can be seen in details here:

  5. RAFAFAN says:

And Rafa always said he judge his season on where he lies in the race, not the official rankings. Daveed too. So Rafa will be so so so pleased because he is realy looking good in 2012. Not only his tennis, he is far happier than last year. Well done our Rafa!

  6. Rafaella says:

If Rafa wins Wimbledon, the points he will earn won’t be enough to overtake Nole as No.1. Is my assumption correct?
