Steve Tignor made me cry. It’s a great article. :) I couldn’t watch the final last night and only followed Miri’s tweets. When Rafa won, I was emotional (to say the least), as I know everyone was too. :) I’ll be watching the match in full later and I might be emo again.

So happy for Rafa and so happy and proud to be his fan. :)

    • Patricia/England says:

Only have had time to read Steves article and yes Mafie I had tears too. As he said I have never seen the family, especially uncle Toni so animated during a match, sure did out-Djokovic the Djokovics ….. love it.

  2. the other Maria says:

“They were out-Djokoviching the Djokovics.” Haha. This is a good one. They surely were. Their almost trademark reserve washed away.

  3. silhouette says:

Tignor’s article is so good. And I got the tears as you promised we would get from that article, Miri.
Thankfully, there was support for Rafa throughout the stadium. Although support was not as loud as that for Djokovic, it was no less intense. And I’m glad to read that the Nadal clan were “out-Djokoviching the Djokovics”. This wasn’t that obvious from where I was seated so very good to read about that. It’s just that Rafa fans are not as loud as Djokovic’s fans, that is the true. But I’m glad that Rafa knows that there is crowd support for him too. Personally it’s important to me that he knows that. That is why I travel to Paris, to give him support amongst the French crowd.

  4. Kathy says:

“Rafa shared a locker room photo and thanked us for our support.”
    Nice photo!!!! *choke*

  5. Ch F says:

I hope there is footage of all this climbing to the stands and hugging so that I can watch it at some point! Wish I had seen that!

Outdjokoviching the Djokovics? Oh my, that must have been really something!

  6. Allyn Sims says:

Rafa seemed more profoundly emotional in 2010 to me, having come back from even greater struggles than 2011. This year he seemed more jubilant, the way he seemed after 2008 Wimbledon. Which is good.

  7. Nils says:

Pete Bodo wrote a good article(wow!really?!yes, surprisingly!) and yeah last 2 paras of Tignor’s article is so good. It made me dewy-eyed again! What a great and humble champion..Vamos Rafa.

  8. Anita says:

Rafa walked past me a couple of minutes ago and I couldn’t stop smiling at him :)

I am sooooooo happy that he arrived here healthy and happy :)

Steve Tignor made my day even better :)

    Thanks Miri for your work!!!

  9. Ophelia says:

Oh no – not another cake!

  10. Tina says:

To wake up this morning being a Rafa fan, was different from any other day.
BECAUSE YESTERDAY HE DID IT!!! He won, and I feel so relieved, so at peace.

Like many of you have expressed here, I find it so comforting to be able to share, read and understand how a Rafa fan feels, and I just wish, I´d known about this forum way before I actually did.

So thank you for that, and thanks to Miri for letting us do that, I really appriciate this.

Seeing the video: ” Tributo a Rafa Nadal Heptacampeón Roland Garros 2012″ really sums up, what an extraordinary efford Rafa has been accomplished in the last seven years here.

I especially loved the last few seconds of the video, where he gives us his gorgeous, infectious smile. It made my morning even sweeter, and you could just tell, how incredibly happy and satisfied he was:-D

  11. Julie says:

Hard to imagine a more beautiful spirit…he is just extraordinary in every way…

  12. Tina says:

    Yes, you are so right…

  13. Isabelle says:

Have not had time to look at all this good stuff but will feast on it for the next few days! I did read the Tignor article yesterday and about choked laughing so hard when I read the “out Djokovic’s the Djokovic family”. I feel so relieved for Rafa (and all of us) that he won this trophy and am appreciative of eveyone’s comments.

  14. Aini says:

    “out Djokovic’s the Djokovic family”.

The most “killer” (BEST!) statement of all in the article! haha…

  15. Celeste says:

Congratulations Rafa! You did it! I am so proud of you…the greatest ever. I am happy, relieved and at peace that you won your 7th. It will surely help you in your quest for a 3rd Wimbledon and the defence of your Olympic Gold.

    Vamos!!!

  16. Mas says:

Wow! Is that the longest list of articles that Miri has presented us with to read that I have seen!? I am so looking forward to reading them all! Thanks, heaps , Miri as always.

    Later!
