I think the part when he was holding up the trophy way above his head – check out the video.
I think when he brought the trophy down, his hands lost balance on the trophy and he hit himself on the face with his trophy. when they were playing the anthem, i saw a red mark on his face – left side.

#13′s just beautiful. It does seem he can’t take his eyes off the trophy for a while there – i wonder what has caught his attention? Like they’ve spelt his name wrong or something. Perhaps in the past he’s been so excited by winning it that he’s never actually *looked* at it before – and now that he has, well… LOVE!!

I imagine when Rafa is reading the ‘plate’ with all the names of the former winners he might be sensing the enormity of what he accomplished. Or maybe not; just checking where his name will appear for 2012. He seemed fascinated; it probably helped him focus his mind away from the emotions; step out of the moment for a moment.
Glorious attainment of the title and beating the man he is a bit afraid of at some level.
Curious about Rafa’s girfriend Xisca at Roland Garros yeasterday – some shots showed she was there for the final- but she was missing from the final hugs & embraces- is this part of their low-key public profile ? somehow not too happy about Xisca not sharing his ecstatic moments at the end- this is taking low-key- keeping distance- a bit too far- don’t you think ? how can Rafa not want to give her a hug & embrace after what he had been through ?

Love all these. #10 was when he was checking to see if he was bleeding from where he banged himself with the trophy. Right before this pic he kept brushing his hand on his face and looking at it. Just a little bruise! So cute.
I still can’t get over the giddiness of Rafa’s 7th RG win! I keep on looking at photos, videos and articles everyday. Thanks to this site and Miri! I’m really inspired by Rafa especially his work ethic and quest to improve himself, always. To have 2 solid rivalries takes a lot of guts and mental fortitude. And to win and conquer them is such sweet victory. Vamos Rafa!
