  2. BeBe says:

Caption on #23 – brilliant. Made me laugh out loud.
I missed the match yesterday, any idea where I can watch first three sets?

  3. Isabelle says:

These are wonderful, such tender and intense emotions! I am so thrilled he won.

  4. Mehdi says:

Man, love all these pictures:) You can see how important this one was for him and his box. I am glad he did it:)

Love the joy in his father’s face, just love it:)

  5. Joel Cooley says:

Wow. WOW! Thank you for posting these, thank you all for who contribute to this website!

Most of all, thank you Rafa, for being the singularly most inspirational athlete that i’ve ever known of and rooted for. Thank you for allowing all of us to be a part of your journey in overcoming all of the odds, all of the doubts, climbing and summitting mountains many thought too high to achieve.

Big, happy, joyous tears! Vsmos Rafa!

  6. nolanola says:

The intensity of the emotions from Rafa and his team and family just overwhelmed me. I burst into tears of relief after he won, and cried my way through the whole group hug and trophy ceremony.

I can only imagine how much stonger the feelings of people close to him must have been. I’m so happy for them all, and hope Rafa knows that he is admired and loved by literally millions of others across the world. He deserves it; he has earned it; and people love him not only for what he has done, but for who he is and what he makes us believe is possible.

  7. Rafaella says:

The sweetest hug was from Pau Gasol! :D

  8. Sammy says:

I’m over the moon happy for Rafa. I’m one of his millions of fans and he doesn’t know I even exist (though I did shake his hands when I ambushed him after a practice here in the Toronto masters a couple of years ago :)), yet I do feel totally invested in his win and I’m almost as happy for him as his own family. Rafa has a way of making his fans feel so close to him; he wears his heart on his sleeve and this public display of passion for the game/emotions when he wins draws us in and makes us CARE. This is why Rafa will retain the support of his fans whether he wins or loses; we don’t love him because he wins; we love him because he’s Rafa.

    Wow!! Lovely pics again!
Like yesterday my favourite is #27, it just comletely catches that fragile, vulnerable, beautiful moment between *elation* and *relief*, so special! I do also love #18 the non-hollywood one. And #10 Rafole!

Caption of the day to #23, thinking of his fans. But also love the weather-talk one, #4. And the hands in the air rain ones are funny as well.

I really love all the celebrating with his box ones, how happy are we? They must be over the moon!

Re no 4, to me it looks like Novak’s telling him something like “dude, your fly’s undone” and obviously it can’t be that, so what would it be? Maybe: “Rafa! don’t whinge about wet balls today ok? You just embarass yourself”

  10. Nils says:

WOWWW!!!Lovely, lovely pics. I love the emotional hug ‘orgy’ pics esp. photo # 30 – his dad!
Miri, hilarious and superb caption on # 23. “thinks of his fans” haha..
Congratulations Rafa..You are a true Champ!!

  11. kyukee says:

#18 is not i cry…it’s a cry-ile, Rafa’s version of crying and smiling at the same time

  12. patzin says:

So many great photos capturing the intensity and emotions of the moment. I seem to love the shot of Pau and Rafa, close friends clearly; and family hugs and kisses. Based on a later interview Rafa had strong anxiety about going out there today, fear that yesterday’s events would follow him; luckily little rain and Novak was inconsistent and Rafa fought hard.

I love seeing the family rally around him; we know he absolutely breathes on their love.

  13. Dolcefuga says:

Awwww, I want to be part of the family/team. Rafa is so loved and he thrives from all the positive support coming from each member of the team. It is true when he said that it is their support that has brought him here. Congrats also to all of us, fans of Rafa. We now know that Rafa looks to us for support and that carries him through all his matches. Vamos, champ!

  14. Kathy says:

Beautiful! Of all his wins this seems to be the most emotional for him. I think he appreciates it so much and revels in it because–as he is the first to say- you never know if you will get another.
    Vamos Rafa por siempre!

  15. silhouette says:

Thanks for the photos Miri! Rafa and team had every right to be so emotional. I was tearing when Rafa went for the hug orgy. Love all the hugs photos. I didn’t know Rafa and Pau Gasol has such a tight relationship. So nice to see Gasol hugging Rafa like he did. Love that Rafa smooched his girlfriend too! Didn’t see that on the screen at the court.
Rafa had such fierce emotion when going towards Uncle Toni. I wonder what Uncle Toni had said to Rafa on Sunday night after the match suspension. Uncle Toni did a great great great job!!! What an emotional win for Rafa, his team, his family and his fans! I’m still enjoying the win!

  16. isusvolisjb says:

This really was a special one for the whole “team” and Nadal clan. I remember reading in his book about how careful the family was not to make too big a deal about his wins in order to keep him grounded and to put perspective on his winning in light of the important things in life. I have never seen them celebrate so much, and after reading about Toni being so severe in Rafa’s life it was such a pleasure to see Rafa jump into his arms and hug him with the gratitude he’s always spoken of. I think that demonstration of affection was almost the most touching of all to me. This was such a pleasure to see. Thank you, Miri, for being so faithful to the followers of this site in bringing all of this to us. I was unable to see the bulk of this match and enjoyed it immensely tonight! You are a blessing, Miri!

  17. rana says:

I showed #23 to my officemate last night. She doesn’t watch tennis, didn’t know anything about the “His7ory” implications, but she said, “WOW”. Rafa transcends worlds!

Great photoset Miri! Thank you for keeping us updated. So many pictures, so many articles, so many videos! I love it!

  18. faeaki says:

Amazing love the one with his leg over the wall at the end of the ‘hug orgy’…*phew*

  19. CC says:

Love the smoochy ones and the Pau hug… Just lovely.

  20. Sandy says:

Great pics Miri! Thanks for posting. We will never forget these images.

Like most, my favorite is Pau cradling Rafa’s head. But I also love how tenderly Maria holds Rafa’s neck/head as she kisses him. I was wondering why Maria wasn’t in with the “rave” but I think she was truly overcome with emotion and was trying to avoid the cameras.

So proud. So happy. Also, Relieved! The Nole curse is truly over.

  21. carloesp says:

Thanks for the photos, Miri. I still can feel the emotions of all the people in his box. I get teary eyed looking at them. The photo of him and Xisca is so sweet.

I need more photos of him and Uncle Toni. I wanna see how he jumped to Toni. Too sweet and too funny at the same time.
