Pico stated before match he didn’t expect to win, but it still hurts to watch the reality of it all. Competition is the game. Rafa was sensitive to the result. Pico tried his best and was clearly disappointed.

Poor Pico, it was brutal today and he’ll have to endure all the articles and rhetoric on this beatdown. I do love his kit tho. His and Tsonga’s RG kits have great colors and looks best on both of them.
Felt so badly for Pico, but I’m glad that Rafa was able to separate “the sport” from “the friend” during the game and stayed the course and didn’t let-up one little bit. And of course, Rafa was a true champ and humble victo at the end.
Humble victor, that is.
Miri, you are hilarious. Your talking-to-towel captions never fail to crack me up. And yes, Annihilating On-Court Rafa was out in full force today. Pico’s been playing great all season, so I’m sure he’ll recover from this loss quickly.

“I had no idea forearms could even look that way” – yeah, Sam Stosur’s arms look like that when she’s playing too. A little bit creepy.
Poor Pico, it does seem a bit harsh. Specially after Rafa had talked him up so much before-hand “He’s playing better than ever, he’s a great clay player” etc etc. Love & Love? Pico’s expression looks like: “Yeah, i bet you’re sorry. I’m outta here, ‘bye”.
And a chance for some *quality* time with Nico next!
