Great to know the knee treatments are in progress. If all goes well, I feel Rafa is set to have another string of titles as he did in 2010. Oddly enough, the same problems occurred at the same tournament then against Roddick in Miami when Rafa could be seen visibly banging on his knees at a changeover as Roddick took over the match in the third set. If Rafa plays the way he did in 2010 from Monte Carlo to New York without worrying about the knees, he will be back and better than ever IMHO. Healthy knees are exactly what he needs to get back to being Rafa.
I agree with you casual observer,
The media got obsessed with Rafa’s knee problems in 2009 and he came back and shocked them by winning 3 grandslams in 2010. I feel like 2012 will be Rafa’s year.
I hope to be there to see him win wimbledon.
Miri – Great photo. Rafa smiles as if to say “You thought I was serious ! LOL :)”
The junior photos are precious. I miss Soderling.
Seems like we are in for some nail-biting times, but I am guessing that is why we love our boy. Whatever happens, it is amazing to watch him maneuver through it all with the grace and spirit of a champion. VAMOS!
Well said! We don’t know what’s gonna happen in the future but we know Rafa will b there fighting and we’ll b there cheering him on, living all the highs & lows with him! :)
Meant to respond to killian.

Dammit! Double post!
Hi all Rafa fans. Just wanted to say it’s my 50th birthday tomorrow and Rafa would have played Davis Cup but for the dodgy knees! Grrrrrrr! Maybe just as well as I would be having a party at the time with all friends who are not really interested in tennis. Of course I could have recorded – but it wouldn’t be the same no? More or less at the same time I have just been made redundant after 22 years, and for part of my present, – “leaving do” yesterday I had a huge pic of Rafa with his authentic (proper)signature. Gosh did i really go on about him too much at work!
Anyway back to tennis this all feels like a bit of a deja vue with the knee plasma. Let’s hope it does the trick! And it is meant to be his year – every other year no?
Vamos to everybody x
Happy Birthday Rafafan! Enjoy yourself, we’ll be seeing our Rafa soon enough :)
Happy bday Rafafan! enjoy your birthday and “early retirement”..more time for TENNIS and RAFA now! :o)
do share with us a photo of the RAFA gift you got!
Good luck to you, Rafafan. No one in my life is into tennis either which is why this site is so fun for me. Vamos!
Really like the pic of Rafa in Bacardi’s cover image. Also wanted to comment on the junior photos – it’s unbelievable how straight his hair was when he was younger & now it’s not! I guess I just don’t get it. Anyway, anything w/Rafa on it will sell, that’s for sure.
I’m with you June. It always baffles me how straight Rafa’s hair used to be but no more…can’t wrap my head around it either.
Is that a pic of Tumeu w/Rafa in miri’s photo and is that him in the 1st junior photo w/Rafa? I wonder why he doesn’t still play tennis! I miss watching Dinara Safina play tennis and her brother of course.
My best wishes to you Rafafan!…and my best wishes to Rafa for clay season!I had my bday on 4-4-12!So we are match,no?
