Miami: Rafa says hello and thanks everybodyguys

He’s really improved his self-filming skills. I have great illusion that soon these will seem like full-fledged professional productions!

English:

Is it wrong that I’m thinking he added that quiet little “guys” just for us? Yes. I am. *steps away from the KoolAid*

Oh, and Rafa? You don’t need to thank us…in fact…thank you!

Good decision from Rafa. We expect he can recover until Monte Carlo, it would be very important win there, get back the confidence for all the clay season. VAMOS RAFA

  2. rafanatica says:

Miri, of course that “everybodyguys” was just for us. That’s how he communicates his affection for his crazies.

  3. aRNita says:

Isn’t Rafa sooooo sweet? He apologizes to all fans-at the stadium and those camping in front of their telly. He knows that his fans around the world, albeit different timezones, were looking forward to see the match between him and Andy. He sounds very apologetic, but you know what Rafa, we understand. The fact is, you need to rest the knee, you want to give your best and you are telling the truth. Thank you Rafa for thinking of us fans :) I adore him more everyday. One day, I will see Rafa play for real instead of watching him on my tv. have a speedy recovery. See you in Monte Carlo. Thanks Miri for posting this.

  4. Nana says:

Love he titled his post as “a gift”. He really knows us.

helloeverybodyguys has healing powers for me. Get better Rafa. You don’t owe us anything!

  5. Annie says:

aRNita: love your post. I feel exactly the same way. Where are you from? You’ve got to see him live some day. It’s wonderful!

Hey Miri, your chat window is um, really ‘colorful’ right now. And is someone else using ‘miri’ as their name?

    • aRNita says:

Hehehe thank you Annie. Honestly, Rafa surprises me (and us fans, for that matter). His surprises usually leaves me feeling warm, smiley and happy. His matches made me nervous! Does he have the same effect on you? I am from Singapore Annie. Rafa make tennis alive. This ‘gift’, this video, just melts my heart. *melting* Whereabouts are you Annie?

      • Silhouette says:

Well, hello from Singapore too! :))) Very nice to find a fellow Singaporean Rafa fan here :)))

        • aRNita says:

Hello Silhouette! Yay I found a fellow Rafa fan from my country! Have you met Rafa before?

          • silhouette says:

Yeah I went to RG last year and saw him win his 6th RG title! Had his autograph too! :)))
And I’m going to RG this year again! Hope he nails it for the 7th time!

            • aRNita says:

OMG…lucky you! I’d love to see Rafa ‘live’ playing tennis, not on tv, but as in in-front of my eyes! One day, one day :)

  6. Annie says:

oh yeah, totally think he threw in the everybodyguys since he knows we love it.

  7. ozTee says:

I so love it when he gives us little “gifts” like these, all us “everybodyguys” can’t get enough. He is such a unique person and I love the way he does what he does. Here’s to a fast recovery Rafa and we will be following you on the clay very soon.

  8. DT says:

Feel trouble and relief at the same time; strange weekend will be…
Have no idea how it is possible to recover to be able to compete 100% in such short term like two weeks. So wish it happen very very much.

Dear Rafa, your gift seems to be for all fans, but not for me. When you say something to me, please, look at the centre of filming eye (don’t know how to entitle it) :)))) What a pleasure to see you looking straight yo my eyes!

  9. raulmad says:

What can I say? Take care Rafa, recover well and don’t be so sad. We, your fans understand that you can’t play. It was a good decision to not play with Andy.
I love you Rafa. You are such a wonderful person….

  10. Silhouette says:

Yep, Rafa definitely threw in the ‘everybody…guys’ to make us better. He knows the healing power of these words ;)
He’s so sweet….when he has so many things on his mind, he still tries to ‘make up’ to his fans. That is just so generous and so ‘giving’! The videos are really a gift….one that he didn’t even need to give. And yes, his filming skills are so much better these days :) Always seeking improvement in everything. That’s Rrrrrrafa guys!
You know I had thought that often someone from Team Nadal is filming him when he makes these videos, though there were a few which he operated the camera himself. Its so refreshing to see him operate the camera himself. I actually keep going over the first and last few moments of each video just to see his so very earnest expressions when operating the equipment. I know, I gotta cool off.

Hope he recovers well fast! Vamos Rafa and well, everybodyguys!

  11. June says:

I just love this video. I think Rafa is the best player all around for his sport (minus the darn injuries of course) but that’s the sport like he says. He is so honest, humble and gives it his all. Who can ask for more from him?

  12. nolanola says:

    Those eyes…

  13. Keith says:

Yes those eyes are perfection. And the hair and complexion lately too. But those horrible knees!! If they force him to retire permanently what a loss to sport.

  14. Annie says:

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows if Rafa is planning on playing Barcelona this year? Does he publish his schedule somewhere?

Also, I was looking at the atp tournament schedule and didn’t realize that Halle is played one week before Queens. Just saying’ :)))

    • miri says:

Not really on the topic of this post, but Halle and Queens are played the same week. They start June 11th. Calendar.

Rafa’s calendar used to be published on his site – back when he had one. If you read his presser from Friday, you will see that he mentioned he plans to play Barcelona.

  15. Annie says:

Thanks Miri, I misread the tournament calendar on the tennistv site.
