  1. Goldenboy says:

Does anyone know if Rafa is going to do the PRP treatment after Miami? Is this knee issue new or is it the tendinitis that he has had for a while?

I really hope Rafa is looking to peak during the clay season.

  2. sharon/London says:

If Rafa was having knee problems before or at IW why on earth did he play doubles there and in Miami? I just dont get it. I mean he had 6 weeks off, played 2 tournaments and he is having physical problems already,it’s not a good sign so early in the season is it?
I am sad for him and hope he recovers well.
On yesterdays performance,i think Rafa will struggle against Tsonga so maybe a loss here will not be a bad thing as it will be pretty gruelling from here on in with possibly Murray in semi’s and Djokovic in the final and your not feeling 100% fit, also i dont think i could stand seeing him lose another final to that man.

  3. Kevin says:

If Rafa were to lose in Miami, it may be better to lose in QF to Tsonga, than to lose to Murray or Djokovic in SF/Finals, because Murray/Djokovic will likely be bigger threats in the clay-court season than Tsonga.

    What do you all think?

      • sharon/London says:

i think the only threat to Rafa on the clay is Novak, but over 5 sets i would still pick Rafa. I dont think Tsonga is very good on the clay, from what i saw when he played Rafa in Davis Cup.

    • brs says:

I don’t want him to lose against Nole for 8th time ( or 9th ?, can’t count anymore *sigh* ) but on the other hand I want him to defend as many points as he can. It won’t be good if he goes as number 3 to RG !

A win will be a win; I will always cheer for Rafa to win, no matter what. Tacticly avoiding potential traumatic defeat in later stages may be wise, but not something I would expect from Rafa. I would rather see him stay foolish.
I saw Tsonga vs Malisse last Friday; yes he was being very solid but a healthy Rafa without injury worries luring should be able to take him out. We will see how Rafa’s knee holds out. Murray or Djokovic will be a different matter but, one match at a time.

    • killian says:

Thanks for that, sunset. I was trying to articulate how I felt about all this, and you’ve said it perfectly: “Tacticly avoiding potential traumatic defeat in later stages may be wise, but not something I would expect from Rafa. I would rather see him stay foolish.”

The heart wants what the heart wants. VAMOS!!
