The answer I was going for was Bill Tilden with 10 finals, 1918-25, ’27, ’29 (source). But Mary pointed out that when Bill won, it wasn’t called the US Open. So, I also took Sampras and Lendl since they were tied at 8 for the Open Era. (One person said McEnroe with 5 singles and 5 doubles, but got another question wrong or I would have considered the entry to be valid due to the lack of the word “singles” in the question. After that entry, I changed the question to include the word “singles”.)

I am ashamed to say that I only knew the answer to one question; Rafa as the player with the best winning percentage in Grand slams. Well, I did try to find out when this site first started but I wasn’t really sure it was in Jan 2009. Well, now I know the exact date! And whoever knew that there are so many specifics to setting a question ;P

Icanjustsaythankyouverymuch. I had the most trouble with the Slam winning percentage as you can manipulate numbers to say anything. Concluded that it had to be Rafa…duh.
