That’s what Fed has perfected – the half volley pickup from the baseline. And that is one of the big reasons he has the most aggressive court position of the big 4.

Well, one thing we’ve learned from this Q&A series, is that the way to get Rafa to answer multi-part questions is to number them. I’ve noticed several 1./2./3. questions and he’s answered them 1./2./3. Good boy ;-)

It’s just the first major tournament of the year. There are still 3 GS to come, an Olympic Gold medal and a lot of Masters to win.
Rafa has lost a battle but he hasn’t lost the war! and I think he’s on the right track, just keep working and the result will come. Vamos Rafa!!!

Yep quite a number of points were like that. So, the serve is really key isn’t it? Or not? Can’t be too aggressive without a good serve? Or maybe when he’s inside the baseline, he has to come up with winners rather than to put the ball back into play. Maybe he should practice with Feli if Feli doesn’t mind…cos Rafa says he has to serve with a lot of spin to Feli, otherwise the return is much faster than he likes? Well, just rambling…..i’m no expert whatsoever.

It happened a lot against Djokovic too. Kept seeing Rafa standing inside the baseline only to suddenly find the ball back right at his feet and he didn’t have time to get out of the way of it.
