AO 2nd round post-match interviews

Warning, this came out LOUD. I don’t know why.

And, the adorable on-court interview:

Yes reading about his performance in the match (refering to clip one), he does need longer matches to find his rhythum I feel. Agree totally with Rafa.

  2. jba says:

jim is so funny. “you have more topspin than anybody ever. why are you so selfish?” LOL!

    love rafa! :)

I loved that too – even though it was obviously set up before hand (how many times do you see Rafa pick up a racket to head to an interview?)

      • Missy says:

Hehhee, I thought the same thing. Jim probably told Rafa that he wanted to be the one to get the scoop on his new strings and that he planned on doing it during the on court interview. He probably then asked Rafa if he could bring one of his rackets along with him.

And of course Rafa, being the accomadating sweetheart that he is, remembered and obliged.

I always look forward to Jim/Rafa interviews. They are like the cherry on top!

Remember last year when he exposed Rafa because Rafa was “stealing” the tournament towels? Or when he asked Rafa to flex his muscles? Or when he talked about Rafa and the Wii?

        :D *loves*

Well that was easy to obtain a racquet from Rafa. Good one Jimmy!!!
So now not only is he signing bra’s, he’s signing baby singlets. Hope no one brings out a nappy. lol

  4. mary says:

Btw, I think we have another RAfa loving journo. He just had to touch him didn’t he. Awe!!!!!!!!!

I was just gonna leave a comment about that. It was really sweet how the interviewer on ESPN felt he had to give Rafa a little pat on the shoulder when he was done with the interview. Yeah, he totally is a Rafa fan you can tell :) Aaww that’s our boy.

Rafa tans so easily. He looks bronzer after this match.

Luv how he always maintains a smile for every interview and so many interviewers just queue up to speak to him.

  6. tiemyshoe says:

I love the way Jim Courier interviews Rafa – he brings out the giggles and eyebrow-waggles!

  7. miri says:

This vid has the full Courier interview (as well as match point and the marriage proposal)

    • sia says:

Oh my … could he be any sweeter. Love the response to the marriage proposal … he understands english better than he lets on, no?
He just looks so much healthier right now … happier too … I guess.

      • Atch2 says:

I think Rafa understands the language of luv most when it comes to English. Remember when that male fan said “I luv you” and then kissed him?

    • Atch2 says:

Thanks for this Miri. The sound from other posted vid was not good for me.

What the heck was all the shrieking and shouting at the beginning?

Was that woman’s marriage proposal inspired by the 6-pack? At first Rafa didn’t seem to have heard that woman’s proposal and then he reacted in such a sweet, casual and slightly embarrassed way, and the smile lingered as he was waiting to return serve. Did he win that point or was he too distracted by it?

Luv that Rafa said “but you know, always with yourself” bec he always knows that it’s the player, not the equipment that make you a good tennis player.

Feel sorry for the lower ranked guys who have to play Rafa or Fed. It’s not enough to play these guys, but to play them in the biggest stadiums in every tournament, Rod Laver, Philippe Chatrier, Center Court and Arthur Ashe etc. Pretty intimidating.

And I had wondered where the Bull on Rafa’s shoes disappeared to.

“What the heck was all the shrieking and shouting at the beginning?”

Heh, I think somebody asked for his socks! :D

      • sia says:

Atch2 I think sometimes (even though they know there is not much chance of winning) these players like to have the opportunity of match play with the top players in the world. They also get a chance to play on the centre court of whichever tournament they are playing, so it could be considered a little bit lucky. i guess it depends on how you see it. :)

        • Atch2 says:

Yeah, I understand what you mean. You can’t buy that awe and experience of playing these great players on such a huge stage.

  8. CC says:

BTW, Jim…we all know that Rafa has big hands, so you don’t have to go there. :D

  9. faeaki7 says:

lOVE MEN with big hands, so masculine is our Rafa and cute with it.

  10. Ch F says:

Great smiles. Love it when he’s happy.
