Such a fabulous sports man, I remember the way he gave that point to Davydenko during the match, so gracious so special. He looks gorgeous here, (as always), hope he takes this well, he is playing well, and its a better result than last year this time, after losing to Murray in Abu dhabi then Monfils in Doha, am I right that he earns 150 ranking points too?

My heart broke for Rafa when he said that coming back and playing good tennis was something “that’s gonna be in my heart for a long time”. God, he’s had such a rough time:(((

He was so friggin close:((((( Thinking back to the Talk Asia interview (where he said he’s “sad to play bad” and, “if I play okay and the other better, that’s it”), I hope he really does feel he played the majority of the tourney well and doesn’t dwell too much on being passive when he really had the chance to win the match.

While I am disappointed that Rafa lost this so close match, I am thrilled to see him playing so well again! After all it was barely 2 months ago that he couldn’t win a match! His improvement had been fantastic and hopefully Rafa will go away knowing that he somewhere near his best. It must give him great heart for the AO. As usual he was a complete darling at the awards ceremony…oh we do love our boy!

Can you imagine Rafa having to bite that trophy?! We could only dream of Rafa playing such a match just a couple of months ago – within touching distance of another title, just one more step to take. And already it’s an improvement on this time last year. Vamos lovely Rafa!

I can’t watch the whole video, that was a rough loss! Rafa is always so professional! I really, really, really hope he wins the AO again, he’s playing well, even with a L today!

Oh God, anything that starts with a floodlit camel’s head has to go! Seriously don’t know whether to laugh or cry, sitting here at 3am freezing ass off after watching the recorded match.

Darling Rafa, always so gracious. And yes the tennis played this week will be in our hearts for a long time too.

    Nice gold budgie, Nik.
