Haven’t been able to find a presser transcript or video, so I’m resorting to ye ol’ press-round up since most of the quotes come from the presser.

This quote amuses the heck out of me:

“I played bad. I won. That’s one positive thing that I had all my career, and it’s important (I) don’t lose this ability to win matches when you are not playing really well.”

It’s always good to have a plan B.

“I have another chance to improve tomorrow,” Nadal said. “I hope I don’t play worse.”

Oh goodness, I hope so too. Here’s something to try: Pretend you are starting the match match point down. That seems to get you going, open up the shoulders and forces beautiful aggressive play.

Nadal Survives Epic Second-Round Battle at Paris Masters:

“I’ve shown that if there’s something not to worry about it’s my attitude, which was good at all times, even playing quite a poor match. I’m not worried about my game, although (I am worried) about my game in this tournament, which is going to be difficult because when things start badly it’s always tough to get your rhythm.”

Good positive acktitude.

Nadal makes hard work of injured Almagro in Paris:

‘I am happy to be playing,’ said Nadal. ‘The end of the season is gonna be difficult for me. I know that. But I am here to try my best all the time, and to keep improving to try to improve the next season with playing well.

‘These last tournaments are gonna help me a lot to practise and to get the rhythm for start the next year better.’

And for Davis Cup!

I appreciate that he can tell it like it is, like
‘I played crap tennis today, and I hope I won’t be crappier tomorrow’
