My impression in reading articles, I guess, is that Toni is like a father to Rafa and has instilled his own values to Rafa. Rafa is clearly a kind person and when on court puts forth as much “effort” as possible to win his competition. Rafa is a well balanced, humble young man.

  2. faeaki 7 says:

There relationship seems more than special, it will go down in tennis history as a legend in itself. Wonderful stuff! wonderful people!

  3. Atch2 says:

Uncle Toni is a great choice for this topic.

  4. mary says:

Uncle Toni is one special individual. No wonder Rafa has kept himself grounded. Toni sums it up completely, – “the success should not be understood unless accompanied by a correction” in the way of being .
    Simply masterful, poetic & wise.

  5. sia says:

What an incredible moment that must of been, for both of them, when Rafa won in the final at Roland Garros in 2005. Just think without Uncle Toni, Rafa would never have pursued a tennis careera.

  6. Atch2 says:

If Uncle Toni was trying to make Rafa ‘a good player, also a good person’, he achieved that beyond words.
