The future of Spanish tennis! he sure was…
Great to see another one of these, and I like the way they mention his injury and how it stopped him breaking out sooner, he has sure had some ups and downs.. but always gotten through them.

This is a trip to watch. Crazy that he goes on to win RG on his first attempt. Rafa looks goooooood. Isn’t Acapulco the trophy Rafa forgot in the car and has been trying to get back ever since? LOL I wonder if he ever got it back.

    • Mim says:

LOL! Did he really win the tournament only to go on and LOSE the trophy?

That really makes me chuckle. In a very poetic (and ironic) manner, it sums up Rafa and his whole philosophy, doesn’t it?

Wonderful! You can’t make this stuff up! ^_^
He can’t help himself, he’s just naturally inspirational.

    • CC says:

I’m pretty sure he said he never saw that trophy again. And I’m sure that annoys him like hell… ;)

Hey guys sorry for the wrong place to ask, but does anyone have a link to watch the china open online ?

    • Mim says:

      *presses play..then winces*

FIRST thing that rings in my ears is: “Oh a drop shot from NaDOLL!”

WHY can’t they get his name right? They take an utterly dignified name like Rafael Nadal and butcher it! RafeeeALL NaDOLL! Jeez Louise!

Then again, we’re talking about the same people who’d call someone with a dignified name like Mohammed….MO..

      HATE that!

Okie, rant over, back to watching the vid.

  4. Mim says:

Just testing to see if post shows.

*looks right, then left, decides that no one is looking and decides to shake toosh at the screen* Na ni na ni na na!

“I like big butts and I can not lie, you other sisters can’t deny. When a boy walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face….”

    • Mim says:

*smacks forehead* Of COURSE that post would show! The computer has been eating my posts all day, particularly one that contained some analysis on Rafa’s actual tennis (honest, it was about Rafa’s tennis!), but it posts THIS particular post…just my luck.

I swear, my computer has turned evil and is out for revenge.

*looks at other members of nadalnews.com* Oh shut up! Don’t act like you weren’t thinking it too…Sir Mix-alot..he’s a classic you know!

      • Mim says:

*sigh* Sorry Reme, I didn’t mean for that to be a reply to your post. You asked one simple question and got a whole lot of weirdness in return.

My computer is rebelling. I think it’s jealous of all the attention Rafa is getting…
        Let me try this again:

Anywho, these are the links I tend to go to: :)

Sorry, Mim – I have a lot of problems with people posting spam with links to viagra and/or porn sites, so I have it set so that posts with links are put into the moderation queue…esp if there are a few posts in a row with links in them from the same person. I check the queue as often as possible, but sometimes I’m a bit tardy.

For future reference, we should probably talk about watching Rafa’s current tournament in a post about the current tournament – not a flashback post. :)

        • Mim says:

Aaah, should have figured that out. Sorry for clogging up your queue. I think I attempted to post the same posts several times. :s

You can feel free to delete the “testing post” that is four posts from this one if you want. I was trying to figure out what was up, and as you can see, I made a complete fool of myself. >_<

I'll keep that in mind the next time my post doesn't show up automatically. I'd much rather go through the slight delay, than have to sift through all those crazy ads..

So thank you for that dedication! It must be a pain in the famous ass.

Obviously the spammers haven't payed close enough attention.
Viagra and porn…pfffftt!…As if WE need any of that stuff on this site! Had they taken a moment to actually read one or two posts (preferably one made by CC), they would have SEEN that viagra and porn would just be redundant. Igits.

"For future reference, we should probably talk about watching Rafa’s current tournament in a post about the current tournament – not a flashback post. :)"

          Of course we should! :)

    Ridiculous forehand at 1:47!

I’m enjoying the commentary as much as the flashback! I love listening to commentators who aren’t biased and have their own agendas. They really analyze the tennis fairly and equally and say things that a Goodall wouldn’t bother saying but would more often than not ignore or downplay. Plus, I like the inside info and how they refer to other players and coaches. They style (because it’s two Americans commentating with no Europeans) is very NFL-like. I wish there was more of that style.

Who’s that man commentating (the one with the deep, soothing voice)? I like him. Would like to know his name. He should commentate more often. Would be a welcome break from the usual suspects we’re held hostage to..

Beautiful point at 4:28 by Montanes! And at 5:08 by Rafa! Great points by both players! How about that point at 5:41?! The movement and depth….just perfect timing on the ball! I echo the commentator when I say “Wow”..just WOW!

And that point at 6:14!!! Ridiculous! The anticipatory skills of Rafa is flawless! Great point!

Love how the commentators (at 6:51) say how Rafa “pounces” on the ball. Then High Voice Commie says “He’s just relentless!” and Deep Voice commie just says “Yup..” all knowingly. It’s as if THEY’RE worn out themselves! :D

Way to serve it out for the Championship, that’s our Rafa! Vamos!

Rafa wasn’t just the future of SPANISH tennis, he’s the future of TENNIS period. Just love it! Thank for sharing Miri! Fantastic stuff.

  6. CC says:

Looove even just listening to the “smack” sound when they hit the ball! And the grunt.
    The drop shot is awesome.

Also, how can somebody look so HOT when they’re only 18 years old?! I meet 18-year-olds every day at work and…no, they never look like that (which is probably a good thing, thinking about it).

Funny to see that he doesn’t shake his hair when he takes the headband off at the end! Or maybe that was just a one off.

    • An says:

Oh CC, what would the world look like if all 18 years old looked like that? No good for our concentration, i’ll never would be able to get annything done, i only would be good for one thing… :P

  7. Carol says:

Admit I’d not seen this before. So sat there gobsmacked. Yes, Mim, those verbs “relentless” and “pounces” are now classics, are they not, for Rafa-on-clay? They are so spot on. Hmm, a hunting, hungry Big Cat Rafa (with the snarl, of course!)

Yet again, I feel privileged to live in the Rafa-era, to see such brilliance so closely (occasionally flawed??, that’s for late night discussion, surely!) – as well as Rafa’s undeniable hotness mixed with his down-to-earth-ness. A star of stars, indeed. Oh, dear, sorry if this sounds a bit po-faced – it wasn’t meant to :-)

Just think (and I’m not being denegrating here)if there was no Roger Federer – Rafa, for sure would have held the #1 spot for all that time…
