Love the eyebrows at 2:01! I didn’t realize they stopped to translate every one of his answers. No wonder so much playing with the hair, touching the face, etc. :)

It takes patience and focus in these situations – half of it is questions in a language he doesn’t understand. He looks bored at times and who wouldn’t be. Hard to stay fresh.

I love the answer to the “your style of tennis makes you more prone to injury”-question. So wise. You’re fantastic, Rafa!

I don’t know how accurate the translation into Chinese was, but u’ve got to give the translator a lot of credit. He has to translate Rafa’s answers there and then and if u r not use to Rafa’s accent and jargon, it can be difficult. Liked how Rafa would look across at him.

Rafa’s like a kid that can’t sit still. Very Rafadorable.

And agree with u CC, that Rafa’s answer to “your style of tennis makes you more prone to injury” question was wise and should shut down similar future questions.

Just think if he gets through every round & faces pressers like this one he’s gonna be climbing up the walls. He’ll have to sneak his ipod in & listen to it while it’s being translated into Cantonese or Mandarin. ;) ;)
He’ll probably play with his hair more frequently & get us all hot & bothered as usual. *imagination running wild again, hot spell coming on*

If you could just place a thought bubble above Rafa’s head during those Chinese translation moments if would read “This is the most boring interview I have ever done!!” I bet he was regretting giving such a long and detailed answer to that question about his style of play!!!
    Bless ‘im.

I’ve finally watched the whole thing. Can anyone hear what the lady asks right at the end? Rafa looks a little shy mixed with “pffft” for this question, no?

  9. dutchgirl says:

I was wondering too. Probably the question really was a “pffft” one, cause it isn’t included in the presser’s transcript.

  10. Rafafan says:

I couldn’t hear either. What does pffft mean? God the hair! Talk about having another habit/ritual/tic! Maybe the bandanda will go and he will do this in the match!

  11. Rafafan says:

ie. running his fingers through his hair a million times to get his concentration going

I think he took a nap at some point
