In her first comment on the site, Mim pointed out this short but…pretty video of the Lanvin shoot.

Oh, the hair… And the smile… And the dimple in that last shot. Precious!

Short, but enough to keep me going at work today. Many thanks, as ever, miri!

I had to wait till I got home to see this. Makes up for a hard day. He looks sooooooooooooooooo fine. I can’t wait to see him back in action. “gulps”, (thinking dirty thoughts)

Mim & Miri, thanks for the 15 seconds of bringing “Heaven” into my blah Monday workday (RAFA & all of his testosterone) Oh, my, where’s a fan when you need one or crank up the AC!!!!

  10. Wooffie says:

    Sheer heaven …

  11. Mim says:

    Aaah, nice post Miri ;D

Your welcome June (and fellow googly-eyed Rafanas).
Isn’t it amazing how natural he is? Just 15 seconds and yet you could write a novel! So natural, no extravagance and abundance of hair product. No distractions with flashing lights and outrageous props. Just..Rafa in all his glory.

*grins* What a sweetheart. No doubt we miss him to Mars bar bits!

  12. sia says:

Mmmm … mars bars … and Rafa. sweet.
Hey June how is your son ? Did he actually tear something or was it just a pull ?

  13. June says:

Yes, Mim he is amazing to look at & I could stare at him for hours at end. He is so natural in his poses that he could be a model for sure, no? His hair is so beautiful — I wish he would do a commercial we could watch here in the US. Thanks for asking about my son, Sia — yes, he tore both his ACL & meniscus in his right knee & has to have surgery in a few weeks when the swelling goes down. He is so discouraged, but the good news is that his coach is going to let him “red shirt” the fall soccer season & he can play next year (so who cares if he’s another year older when he graduates, right)? Anyway, I bet RAFA is behaving himself better w/his mom than our son is at home w/us I keep telling him (of course Xisca is in town w/him I guess, not like our son’s GF). I pray RAFA doesn’t need surgery, because I’ve heard any kind of knee surgery is a b*tch & a long recovery period even if you’re young & in good shape.

So sorry to hear about your son. I hope after his surgery he heals fast. Very frustrating for both you and your son.
Rafa is incredibly natural in front of a camera. I wonder, if cloning was freely available I’d put my order in. One Rafa to go!

It’s a beautiful video .. Rafael is really spectacular. I would like to add this video super-nice and I hope better times.

No one can snatch you to the magic of this moment. There are millions of reasons to give thanks for being so alive .. (I haven’t translated the letter entirely but it is wonderful). It’s from Spanish group “la sonrisa de Julia”.

  15. AnaR says:

The translation more or less is:

    Guide your heart
    to a new station
    to walk without a clock
    to a great conversation.

At the sound of the sea
    and the sunset
a bonfire in a corner of the night

    No one can snatch yourself
    the magic of the moment
    There are millions of reasons
to give thanks for being alive.

    There is nothing to suggest
you have it there in front
    and nothing prevents to you
    enjoy the moment.

I know this might hurt someone
    I know it’s important
but now that I have you here
    Now you can not topple.

    Now the sun from sunrise
    shines within you
    Will give you the gift
    of enjoy and be happy.

    Life may end today
    but this will not prevent
    you can walk forward.

    No one can snatch yourself
    the magic of the moment
    There are millions of reasons
to give thanks for being so alive.

    It’s so nice.. isn’t it?

  16. AnaR says:

Where it says .. “I know this might hurt someone” should say .. “I know that you has been hurt”

    I am sorry, a mistake.

  17. sia says:

June, in the past when I have had injuries the worst part is waiting for the surgery. Once that happens at least you know you are on the mend. I’m sure he’ll feel a bit cheerier then. Good luck with a young man at home for the summer ….
It is so hard when the mind thinks one thing but the body is having none of it … I’m sure Rafa is working hard at his recovery, but I bet he is not all smiles.

  18. June says:

Thanks everyone (Mary, Sia, AnaR & Atch2) for the words of encouragement. Yes, that video was lovely & when RAFA smiles he lights up the whole room & I love to see him w/kids as he’s so genuinely caring. I’m sure he’s not a “happy camper” right now trying to heal his knees but I know he will be back to his happy-go- lucky smiling self. We always say that when someone has dimples that they were kissed by the angels & how he was! That’s so funny about little RAFAs walking around & cloning him — it made me laugh & my day today again :-)

There is a vid somewhere in YouTube of Rafa with this really young girl and he’s just amazing with her. Also Rafa with babies, cousins, strangers’ kids etc. He’s marvellous with kids. He’s the oldest cousin in his family after all and there are quite a number of kids in the Nadal family.

I put this link on another page but I don’t think anyone saw it. It is adorable. Just what we need to see right now…Enjoy!
