Wow. I just got finished reading your “as it happened” comments and was wondering if they would show the trophy ceremony on TTC (just starting to show the match) and here it is! Thanks!

Well down Rafa, is it me or does Ferrer look really dissapointed? Shame to see that, he played well and should be proud at the effort he put in and his new found form.

Who wouldn’t be really disappointed right after a loss? It usually takes a while to reach that, “sure, I lost today, but I didn’t play badly” phase of defeat acceptance.

The problem i think with Ferrer is that he played perfect for the lenghts of some games in the second set, and still he didn’t manage to make anything out of it. That must be frustrating. I hope Ferru can display that tennis in other tournaments and with other rivals, because if he does, he will be back in the top 10 in no time.

Yeah, I would like to see David do well again, he’s such a nice guy, and showed so much heart today, really showing at times that he believed he could win or a least take a set, I agree if can show this much resilience against other top ten guys then who knows, he’s certainly fit enough still, good luck to him.

I found the collateral damage of the champagne holding models kind of funny.

Unfortunately, despite reaching the finals like last year, the change in points distribution, means Ferrer will not gain as many points as will be dropped. He’s got a lot to gain in Rome, though. Bummer he didn’t get a first round bye, though.
