Some days you win, some days you lose

…and some days it rains. On a rain-filled day in Monte Carlo, Rafa and Laptenti only got one game in before the rain returned. Since it was getting close to evening, play was cancelled for the rest of the day. Only a few matches were completed today – players will probably have to double up tomorrow.

Update: Friday’s OOP is out. Rafa will play 1st and 4th on court one.

Anyone know why Djokovic/Montanes continued play and finished their match while Murray/Fognini & Rafa/Lapentti were off the court?? It will be interesting to see how they schedule things for tomorrow.

Weather forecast not good for the next few days :(

Although, some weather forecasts say that it will be sunny at 10am when Rafa starts and at around 3/4pm when he starts again so we may be lucky.

However, its meant to rain on Saturday and Sunday so how thats gonna get solved if it does I do not know, I mean it may go into next week and then what about Barca!

Actually, maybe this will be a good excuse for him to skip Barca. *wink wink elbow elbow Team Rafa*

I’m incensed with the scheduling at MC. Honestly, they really couldn’t have tried harder to get a match in for the 4-time defending champion? Screwball stuff.

I think the bottom half has been playing first all week and they seem to be doing the same thing on days when both halves are playing. I’m blaming Hewitt. As it was, he didn’t make it to Monte Carlo until a few hours before his match. If the top half played first, he couldn’t have played. I’m guessing he asked for as late as possible start as possible due travel needs (and the stupidity of accepting a WC into an event when you are in the late rounds of an event half-way around the world) and his request was granted.

That being said – tomorrow is a cluster of a schedule. If Nando wins his doubles, he could be playing 3 matches tomorrow. Just think if hadn’t managed to get his singles in today.

Rafa looked beyond pissed that they even had him go out and attempt to play today and I kind of have to agree with him. It looked dark, they have no lights and rain clouds were still hanging around. What was the point? He didn’t even wait for them to call the match. he just said he wasn’t playing like this, picked up his stuff and walked off!
