And now, the Simon interview from the series of French interviews on (Google translation)

Physically, at times, we see that he is tired. That was the case, for example at the Australian Open. But what is amazing is his attention. His ability to fix his attention, even when it’s hard. We see him move a little less well, run a little slower, but in the attitude: he does not move. He remains focused on each point. Even if it lasts five hours, five hours, he is concentrated on every point. And that is something almost impossible to do. He is the only one I see doing that.

OHMYGOD. I always liked Gilles but now I *flove* him! You can tell he really admires Rafa – he totally sticks up for him! I mean he sounds borderline outraged at how underestimated Rafa has been (by some) as both No. 1 & No. 2 in the world. Wow. I hope this makes its way back to Rafa somehow. Gilles is a Rafanatic! LOL :)

AHHHH!!! Totally *flove* Gilles too!!! And he is SO right in what he says, which makes him a GOD. I DO so hope Gilles does a little better soon, than he’s done earlier this season. He really deserves it.

Wow, what a sweetheart! I always loved Simon because you can always see how much he respects Rafa … plus he’s so darn cute :-)

I loved his comparison of Rafa & Roger – that’s like an entire article in itself, it’s so long! How nice to have a player of his calibre point out how underestimated Nadal has always been and, to a great extent, still is. But it always makes me a little sad that Gilles sometimes sounds kind of down on his own game (he has another recent interview on the WLT site). I hope his season starts to pick up soon!
