Rafa outlasts Stan the Man

It wasn’t easy, but Rafa made it past 17th ranked Stanislas Wawrinka tonight 7-6(7-2) 7-6(7-4). Stan brought his game; Rafa brought bits of his but managed to step it up when needed. Rafa’s forehand was off tonight and he seems emotionally low and out of sorts at times. That didn’t stop him from getting his act together when needed, however. Rafa gets a much deserved day off tomorrow and will return to action on Thursday where he will play Del Potro. Match report via the tournament site.
